CD.100: what is inside the slat end

The largest section in the range closes a 10.5 m opening. The detail that makes that possible is not the slat — it is the three-layer cap on the end of it.

CD.100 is the largest slat in the range, rolled from imported billet in 6063-T5 and 6063-T6 and closing an opening up to 10.5 m wide.

The part that makes a curtain that wide survive is the end of each slat. The cap is built in three layers — a PA outer, a plated steel core, a PA inner — so the load path from slat into guide passes through steel while the bearing surfaces stay polymer. A single-material cap either wears through or transmits every movement into the guide as noise.

The slat itself is vented, which on a door this size matters for pressure as much as for light: a sealed curtain across a 10.5 m opening has to carry the full wind load, while a perforated one bleeds part of it.

Security on the large sections is the same set as the rest of the range: rolling-code handsets, the automatic latch, forced-entry alerting, and storm fixings where the site needs them.
